We headed up late morning and headed up the road. It isn’t too far when you cross Mosier Creek – I took one of the few pictures of the day here:

And took a short video – it was running pretty good – I’m guessing a lot of the recent snowmelt is coming down:
We continued up the road and shortly before there are a couple of trails to the left, things open up and the map shows what looks like some rock formations or something. I brought my done so I thought I’d take it off and see if I could see anything from the air. I didn’t really see a whole lot – video to come.
After flying the drone for a bit, I packed it back up and we headed up the road – just after where we flew, the “worn” trail goes to the left and heads down towards the lake area. We decided to continue straight. It was kind of interesting – the beginning of this part of the road was well worn, but as we got further up the road it looked like it had more traffic. We got to the bottom of a pretty steep hill and the trail literally went straight up the hill most of the way up (you can see how close the contour lines are on the map) – we climbed up this part of the trail and pretty quickly popped out on a road:

We walked down to the northe end of the road where it dead ended:

We then turned around and I was wondering if maybe the road would continue south and maybe head back to the trail. We started walking but then the road crossed a creek and started heading north – it was obvious it was not going where we needed to go, so we turned around and headed back – we came back the way we came in and headed back down that steep hill which was tougher going down than it was going up.
We walked back down the way we came in to the junction where we headed straight – we took the “worn” path which headed back down to another road. It kind of looked familiar and once we got down the road a bit it was familiar. Down the road a bit is where a trail the mountain bikers had cut up thru the recently harvested area which then re-joins the main road. We stopped here and I did another drone flight. I flew over the lake and Mosier Creek. Video to come.
After the second drone flight, I packed up and we headed back up the mountain bike path and back up the hill. I decided to leash Thor up for the way back, just in case anyone came in while we were heading out. We got back up to the main road and headed back to the truck.
It was a short day but it was good to get out in the woods for a little bit – I know Thor enjoyed himself! There is still quite a bit more to explore in this area….
